Analisis Kesulitan Belajar Peserta Didik pada Mata Pelajaran Sejarah Kelas X-A di SMA Negeri 3 Samarinda

Abstract

The development of digital technology in history learning makes it easier for students to access information, but also presents challenges in understanding the material and utilizing learning resources appropriately. This study aims to analyze the forms of learning difficulties of students in history learning in class X-A of SMA Negeri 3 Samarinda and the factors that cause them, including the use of artificial intelligence (AI). This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data sources are obtained from history teachers and six students of class X-A of SMA Negeri 3 Samarinda. The results of the study indicate that there are three forms of learning difficulties, namely difficulty understanding historical material, including understanding meanings and terms, remembering historical facts, and distinguishing accurate information; difficulty completing assignments characterized by late submission; and difficulty in presenting work results neatly and clearly. The contributing factors consist of internal factors, namely poor physical condition, suboptimal use of AI because students are not yet able to use information generated by AI critically and appropriately, low interest in learning, and unstable motivation. Meanwhile, external factors include uncontrolled use of mobile phones and limited learning resources. This study concludes that difficulties in learning history result from the interaction of mutually influencing internal and external factors. These findings serve as the basis for developing history learning strategies that are more contextual, interactive, and adaptive to technological developments.
