The public requires an adequate understanding of the identification, benefits, methods of use, and safety of medicinal plants to ensure their appropriate and safe application. One plant family closely integrated into daily life encompassing various food crops, spices, and plants traditionally used for health purposes is the Apiaceae family. This community service initiative aimed to enhance the knowledge of PKK (Family Welfare Empowerment) volunteers in Kertosari Village regarding the identification, benefits, proper usage, and safety of plants from the Apiaceae family. The activity was conducted at the Kertosari Village Hall, Singorojo District, Kendal Regency. A total of 30 PKK volunteers participated, with their knowledge evaluated through pre-tests and post-tests. Educational efforts included interactive presentations, the distribution of booklets, discussions, and a Q&A session covering plant identification, health benefits, general bioactive content, methods of use, and safety considerations. Data were analyzed descriptively using means, standard deviations, medians, and proportions. Differences between pre-test and post-test scores were assessed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test, while relative improvement was evaluated using the Normalized Gain (N-Gain). The mean score increased from 63.33 ± 19.88 (pre-test) to 87.00 ± 12.64 (post-test), with 27 participants (90.0%) showing an improvement in their scores. The Wilcoxon test indicated a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test (p < 0.001), and the N-Gain value of 0.65 fell into the moderate category. Feedback from 26 respondents yielded a score of 3.12 for the relevance of the material to their needs and a score of 3.04 for overall satisfaction (on a scale of 0-4). Educational outreach delivered through presentations and booklets effectively increased participants' knowledge regarding the use of medicinal plants from the Apiaceae family.
